Abducted resident of Nova Kakhovka to be “tried” for “espionage”
Russian occupational authorities accuse the abducted Vladyslav Bilyi of collaborating with the Ukrainian military and are preparing him for a “trial”. The man is charged under Article 276 of the Russian Criminal Code (“espionage”).
This is stated in a press release from the Russian general prosecutor’s office.
According to the “investigation”, in March 2022, the man allegedly collected and passed on to representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine information about the locations, times and movements of units of the Russian armed forces in the occupied part of the Kherson region.
According to Russian security forces, the data allegedly allowed for precision strikes on the positions of the Russian occupiers. The criminal case is planned to be sent to the “Kherson regional court” for “consideration on the merits”.
According to Russian law, under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Russia, Vladislav Bily faces 10 to 20 years in prison. This article allows for the trial of foreigners.
The disappearance of the now 37-year-old Vladislav Bilyi was reported in the autumn of 2023. It was reported that he had been kidnapped and was in captivity.
In April last year, the Russian Kremlin-controlled media outlet RIA Novosti published a list from an alleged “former curator of the Right Sector”, which contained personal data of members of the “12th Battalion of the Right Sector Volunteer Ukrainian Corps”.
Russian media claimed that this battalion was stationed on the territory of a former dormitory of the agronomic research centre in the village of Plodove, Kakhovka district.
Among the names in the list the Occupied found Bilyi Vladyslav Viktorovych, born on 21.03.1987, who lived in Nova Kakhovka, Kherson region.
