Due to windy, dry weather, the number of landscape fires increases in the occupied parts of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

On September 30, 95 out of 106 fires in the Luhansk region occurred in the ecosystem. Dead wood, shrubs, reeds, garbage, and forest plantations with a total area of over 766 hectares burned down, the rescue service of the Luhansk “republic” reported, according to Novyny Donbasu.

The areas around Krasnodon, Perevalsk and Sverdlovsk were most affected.

In the Kirovsky, Rovenky, Slovianoserbsky, Pershotravnevy, Krasnoluchsky, Bryankovsky, Sverdlovsky, Novoaydarsky, and Krasnodonsky districts, the private sector was affected by the fire.

On September 30, a large landscape fire also broke out in the Starobeshevo district of the Donetsk region. Dry grass caught fire in an open area. As a result, the fire approached country houses. Several outbuildings, garages and non-residential buildings were damaged.

No one was killed or injured.

Also on the afternoon of October 1, a large fire broke out in occupied Luhansk.

High fire danger will remain in the east of the country for at least two more days.
