Mariupol defender sentenced in Donetsk
According to the Russian Investigative Committee, the occupation court in Donetsk sentenced the commander of the second fire support unit of the 36th Brigade of the 501st Separate Marine Battalion, Oleg Polulyakhov. The man was sentenced to 27 years in prison, Berdiansk 24 reports.
Poluliakhov was charged with ill-treatment of civilians, murder for reasons of political and ideological hatred, and attempted murder by a group of people. For example, it was claimed that in March 2022, while in combat positions, Oleg Polulyakhov received an order from his commander to open fire on civilians. As a result, one man allegedly died on the spot, and a woman and another man fled and hid. In addition, in one of the high-rise buildings in Mariupol, Polulyakhov reportedly shot a man in the head with an assault rifle, and the man died.
Such charges and sentences against captured defenders of Mariupol are typical. At the end of the last year, the Russians sentenced Anton Baidrakov from Berdiansk to 15 years in prison.
