Russian occupiers in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region are waging a recruitment campaign and trying to attract the local population to serve in their army, the National Resistance Center of Ukraine reported on Thursday, August 1, according to Novyny Donbasu.

It is noted that special detachments of Russian security forces, accompanied by collaborators from local administrations, travel to villages where they try to persuade the locals to sign a military contract.

“The traitors make lists of those who are supposedly loyal to the occupiers and may agree,” the NRC noted.

At the same time, the occupiers promise that recruits will serve in the rear, but, according to the NRC, this is not true.

“The Kremlin benefits from the deaths of Ukrainians, regardless of the side they are fighting for, to destroy the mental connection between us,” the statement said.

Earlier, it was reported that in Russia, a Ukrainian was sentenced to 8 years in prison for convincing the occupiers to surrender to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
