Putin introduced compensations for families of Investigative Committee officers killed in Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on compensation payments to families of Russian Investigative Committee officers killed in the occupied territories of Ukraine. Compensation will also be paid to those wounded in Ukraine.
The Investigative Committee is a paramilitary state body in Russia with investigative functions. Recently, officers of the Investigative Committee, together with the Russian Federal Security Service, allegedly kidnapped a young man on the streets of Melitopol and forced him to make incriminating ‘confessions’.
Previously, similar decrees have been issued regarding the death or injury of Russian military personnel, civilian employees of the Russian ministry of defence, police officers, customs officers and others. Families of those deceased are promised compensation of five million rubles, and the wounded – three million.
Representatives of the Russian occupation authorities are often killed in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
