“The best practices of the Soviet education system” to be implemented in the occupied part of the Luhansk region
The occupation authorities in the Luhansk region will implement a Soviet-style educational programme in schools. Schoolchildren will be divided by age and “merit” into “littlle septembrists” (“sentiabriata”), “pioneers” and “hard workers” (“truzheniki”).
The decree was signed by the leader of the Luhansk ‘republic’ Leonid Pasichnyk, he innformed in his Telegram channel on 24 August, OstroV reports.
“I have signed a decree to launch a new educational programme ‘Luhansk Character’ in the region’s schools on September 1, developed by my order by the LPR Ministry of Education and Science together with the regional branch of the Movement of the Firsts and specialists from Luhansk State Pedagogical University. This is a pilot project that we decided to implement as part of the activities of the Movement of the Firsts. We decided to use the best practices of the Soviet education system,” Pasichnyk said.
According to him, the programme will apply to schoolchildren of all ages.
“The youngest ones will be called “little septembrists” in honour of the day of reunification of the new regions with Russia on September 30. And middle school students will be awarded the title of Pioneers of the Luhansk People’s Republic. And tenth-graders will be able to earn the honorary title of Hard Workers,” Pasichnyk specified.
