The construction site of a new university in Mariupol has been turned into a construction waste dump
Metinvest Polytechnic, a new university which was built by Metinvest in Mariupol, was supposed to admit its first students in autumn 2022, 0629 reported.
It was supposed to train specialists in modern professions in metallurgy. New areas of training would correspond to new technologies being introduced in the metallurgical sector.
Construction was proceeding rapidly on a vacant lot behind Svobody Square. In addition to the educational building, a modern campus for students and a new stadium for two universities – the Mariupol State University and Polytechnic – were to appear there. Construction stopped on 24 February 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine.

Instead, a branch of the St. Petersburg military school, which had never been there before, was hastily built in Mariupol.
Now, the construction site of Metinvest Polytechnic is a landfill where Russians bring construction waste from all over the Central District.
